Business Valuations

What Is A Certified Valuation Analyst?
The Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) designation is a statement to the business, professional and legal community that an individual is qualified, through academic and practical experience, to meet the high standards and professional expertise required by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA) for providing business valuation services.  The Association recognizes exemplary skills and knowledge upon a member's successful completion of a rigorous training and testing process by bestowing the professional designation of CVA.

To become a CVA the practicing professional must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in his or her state, and be a member of the local CPA society of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Membership in the NACVA and obtaining annual Continuing Professional Education (CPE) in areas related to business valuations and/or litigation support are necessary requirements to continue to hold the designation.  CVAs are professionals committed to high standards of expertise and excellence through the advancement of technical skills and knowledge in financial and business valuation theory and practice.

Hawkins, Ash, Baptie & Company, LLP has CVA's on staff to assist you with your independent business valuation.

What is it Worth?
You've spent years creating a business and making it successful.  You've pour your own personal time, effort and hard work into it.  You've suffered through the bad times, and celebrated the good times.  Then the question arises:  What exactly is the value of your business?

Every business is different.  But there comes a time in the life of any business when a valuation must and should be made.  For over forty-five years, Hawkins, Ash, Baptie & Company, LLP has examinedthose differences, and through our trained analysis, provided accurate valuations that businesses, owners, attorneys, and financial institutions rely on.

Hawkins, Ash, Baptie & Company, LLP, a member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, provides confidential, qualified valuation services to a variety of individuals and organizations such as business owners, attorneys, financial planners, insurance companies, real estate appraisers and business brokers, to name a few.

Valuation Accuracy Requires Expertise
Since every business is different, our valuation begins with in-depth, personal interviews of management and owners to discover the history, current situation and future potential of the company.  Discussions include current and future projections, forecasts, budgets, and more.

Our CVA's then examines the company's historical records.

This information, combined with our knowledge and experience in tax, auditing and financial analysis provides us with the ability to make the most accurate and objective valuation possible.
